Lots of rain last night and this morning…

Yesterday we had three runners at Newton Abbot and our first winner of the season! SAMMYLOU won the Haccombe Handicap Hurdle for his owners David and Jaqueline Adams under a patient ride by Kielan. Kielan is riding extremely well at the moment, he’s had three winners in the last two days. ‘Sammy’ is a horse that has to be held up in his races, he did just that spending his whole race at the back before making significant ground on the home straight.

A great result to get a winner so early on in the season, its a huge credit to the excellent team here at Martins Hill who have worked so hard to keep the horses fit during such a difficult time in the sport.

You can watch the replay of Sammlou’s win and our other runners from yesterday here.

We have a runner today at Newbury, HIGH WELLS run in the 8:40 under Shane Kelly. High Wells is a horse with plenty of ability, although he is a bit of a thinker. He wears blinkers today. Mark Coumbe has been doing some great work with him at home.
