Saturday, 3rd October 2020 | Rain | 12°

It hasn’t really got light so far this morning, a very bleak and wet start to the day. Lots of staff in today though which made the morning sail by!

The horses continue to run well, EYEOFTHESCORPION certainly caught the eye  on Wednesday! A lovely horse with a bright future. He delighted his owners Martin and Elliot Hirst, many fun days out to be had with this fine son of Scorpion. Kielan Woods started making head way down the back straight before kicking on over the last hurdle to stretch away. One to add to your trackers!

Another horse that caught the eye was MARBLE SANDS in the bumper at Warwick. On paper it looked like it could work out to be a nice race. Marble Sands was probably finishing faster than anything when running on late to finish 5th. He was green for most the race and he’ll learn plenty for seeing a racecourse for the first time.

CALUM GILHOOLEY was attempting a hat-trick and ran well to finish 4th. He’s had a great summer and once again he showed how brave and gutsy he is. A horse that knows how to win.

Others worth a mention, HIGH WELLS ran well enough on his first start over hurdles for some time. He jumped well and probably didn’t quite get the trip, we’ll look for races over a slightly shorter trip going forward, he’s also had a lot of racing in a short space of time! THE DISTANT LADY ran a pleasing race and was a doing all of her best work late, she has been punished by the handicapper this summer and could probably do with dropping a few pounds.

No runners this weekend…

We will have runners early next week, including our Winter Racing Club horse New Zealander. Remember to check him out here

The Arc De Triomphe tomorrow… Heavy ground and the big battle between Enable and Love is off, it will still be a race to look forward to. Lets hope Enable and Frankie can do it!

Have a good weekend and stay safe!
