Friday and the weekend is nearly with us!
After a long wait the Euro’s start today, do we believe England can win a major tournament? The tournament kicks off today with Italy playing Turkey.
Our recent runners have all been running with credit. It’s testament to our team that out horses have been hitting the frame. They’re clearly well, fit and enjoying themselves.
Alfoski showed a glimmer of hope yesterday in his race, a big green horse who hopefully can show more potential in the future over a fence. At home he’s a bit of a show off, a good looking horse but as of yet he doesn’t quite understand that he has to race!
Josie Abbing ran very well to finish 2nd at Fontwell, the first two pulled nice clear. Frustrating to come 2nd but its great that she’s competitive. Her BDR Syndicate owners have plenty to look forward to this summer.
Another 2nd was Hattaab, not always the easiest to win one but a horse with ability. He showed that he is in good form and hopefully he can win one this summer.
We have two runners today, one at Sandown on the flat and one at Aintree… ANDALEEP, maybe wasn’t himself at York when never competitive, however he seems to of turned a corner at home. He returns to the track he loves and fingers crossed he’ll have place chances. He runs at 3:20 with William Carver taking the ride. A good partnership!
At Aintree we run EAGLES REALM at 6:15, he makes his hurdles debut. A lovely horse who is beautifully bred, we purchased him from Cheveley Park, he was trained by Sir Mark Prescott. He was recommended to us by our former conditional Tom Humphries, Tom is now pupil assistant to Sir Mark Prescott and is enjoying life in Newmarket. Eagles Realm should be a good fun dual purpose prospect, let’s hope he has place chances today too.
We promised some pictures of our new stores, see them below. A lovely bunch to go to war with in the future. Two are for sale so please get in touch if you’re interested in purchasing…
Spanish Moon x Rose Star
Iellow Star caught our eye straight away at the sales, he’s a striking chestnut gelding by Spanish Moon. He is a gorgeous big horse and a really beautiful mover. He has a very attractive page full of successful relations, both on the flat and over obstacles.
His sire, Spanish Moon, has produced some brilliant NH horses and is most known for being the sire of multiple Grade 1 winning mare Laurina. Spanish Moon himself was an extremely successful performer on the flat. He was a 7f winner at 2, and later on a top-class over 1m4f, won Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. His progeny show plenty of speed on the racecourse, lots of two mile winners such as Grand Roi, Top Moon and of course Laurina herself had plenty of speed!
The Dam side of the page is packed with winners. His Dam, Rose Star has produced four multiple winning horses who have all been trained in France. Rose Star is the daughter of Effet De Star, the Dam of Tony Star who placed in graded races over hurdles and Unique Star who won five times in France.
We are very happy to have secured Iellow Star and think he could make somebody a very exciting horse.
Malinas x Golan Road
We purchased this plucky Gelding by Malinas at the Goffs Doncaster Store Sales. He has a small but select page that is growing all the time and we think he could be really good value. His Sire Malinas is an established NH sire producing horses such as Cheltenham Festival winner Medinas as well as a large amount of useful progeny with official ratings in the 150’s and 140’s.
His Dam, Golan Road, has had three foals to date. The oldest, a 5yo Gelding by Presenting (Present Road), has already won a useful looking Maiden Hurdle in Ireland. Golan Road was a winner herself, thriving on a soft surface to win a point to point and over hurdles. As mentioned before we expect this horses page to keep straightening and he could prove to be brilliant value.
He also qualifies for the exciting £50,000 Spring Bumper, an exciting new initiative.
“NH Store buyers will have further incentive to purchase at the Spring Store Sale this year with Goffs UK and Doncaster Racecourse partnering to offer a new £50,000 bonus scheme which will feature five bumper races across the year – each carrying a £10,000 bonus for any Spring Store Sale winner”.
“The new bonus scheme will be held in conjunction with the Doncaster Spring Store Sale’s established £50,000 Bumper, held annually at Newbury in March, giving owners and trainers a chance to win £100,000 in prize money over a total of six races”.
Have a great weekend!
